Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By installing, running, or using Tanvrit AI (the "Service"), including the desktop app, the optional cloud portal at ai.tanvrit.com, the VS Code extension, the MCP server, and any related libraries, you ("you", the "Developer") agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms") and to our Privacy Policy.

2. The Service

Tanvrit AI is a multiplatform code-intelligence platform with an MCP server, indexer, and AI agent chat, operated by Tanvrit Pvt. Ltd. ("Tanvrit") registered at 168 Plot No 945, Gayatri Mandir se Purab, New Ariya, Sasaram, Bihar 821115, India. The desktop and CLI components run on your own machine; cloud-portal features are optional.

3. Account Responsibilities

  • You must be at least 18 years old to register.
  • Provide accurate contact information; keep it current.
  • Keep your password, OTPs, refresh tokens, and your local MCP bearer token confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account and under that bearer token.
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use.

4. Acceptable Use

  • No use for unlawful or fraudulent activity.
  • No scraping or automated mass downloading of the website or releases without our written permission.
  • No reverse engineering of closed-source binaries except to the extent permitted by Indian law and third-party open-source licences applicable to specific components.
  • No malware, no rate-limit defeats, no DoS attempts.
  • You must comply with the licence and terms of every third-party AI provider you connect (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, DeepSeek, Groq, Mistral, Ollama). Your prompts to them are subject to their policies.

5. Subscriptions, Pricing & Payments

The desktop app and MCP server are free for individual developer use during the dev-beta period. Optional paid tiers, when offered, are billed via Stripe (international) or Razorpay (India). Tanvrit does not store full card numbers; only tokenised references are retained. Recurring debits above ₹15,000 are processed under the RBI's e-mandate framework, including Additional Factor Authentication and a 24-hour pre-debit notification.

6. Intellectual Property & Your Code

The Service, its source code, design, and Tanvrit trade marks are owned by Tanvrit and licensed (not sold) to you, subject to the open-source licences of bundled components (which are listed in the in-app Notices screen). You retain all rights to your source code, your indexed data, your prompts, and any output you generate via connected AI providers. Tanvrit does not claim a licence to your code.

7. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". AI output is probabilistic and may be inaccurate; you are responsible for reviewing any code or suggestion before relying on it. Tanvrit disclaims all implied warranties to the maximum extent permitted by Indian law.

8. Limitation of Liability

Tanvrit's aggregate liability under these Terms shall not exceed the fees you paid to us in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim (or, for free-tier users, ₹1,000). We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify Tanvrit and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service or your breach of these Terms or any law.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service or delete your cloud-portal account at any time via /account/delete. We may suspend or terminate access for breach, suspected fraud, or to comply with a legal order. Statutory financial records are retained per the Privacy Policy; other personal data is purged.

11. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by Indian law; the courts at Patna, Bihar have exclusive jurisdiction. Disputes shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation; failing that, by arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, seated in Patna, before a sole arbitrator appointed by mutual agreement.

12. Changes to these Terms

Material changes are notified to registered users by email at least 30 days in advance.
